phone cards. I just wanted to thank you and whoever is involved in this project."

"I really do appreciate that it really means a lot to me to get a chance to call
my wife. Getting a phone call from me helps her endure this long separation. Thank you for showing that you care about us!"

Launched in 1996, Operation Uplink is an innovative program that provides free prepaid phone cards to
active-duty military personnel and hospitalized veterans. Through the generous support of VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Posts
and members, www.PhonesForSoldiers.org and other caring citizens, Operation Uplink has already distributed over 7,000,000 prepaid cards, representing
more than 105,000,000 minutes of phone time.
This program provides an easy way for individuals and organizations to make an immediate difference in the
lives of these troops.
